Read these blogs

I felt honored a few days ago when I found out that another blogger had recognized Wayward Dogs as an “up-and-coming” blog. We were dubbed a Liebster Blog by one of my favorite blogs, For the Love of My Dogs.

Liebster means Dearest in German, so the Liebster Blog Award is the Dearest Blog Award. It’s an award intended to recognize worthy, lesser known blogs and to help expose their work. Of course, accepting The Liebster Award comes with a few rules!

1. Thank the giver and link back to the blogger who gave it to you. 2. Reveal your top five picks {with less than 200 readers} and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog. 3. Copy and paste the award on your blog. 4. Hope that the people you’ve sent the award to forward it to their five favorite up-and-coming bloggers and keep it going!

And so, I send big thanks and virtual hugs to For the Love of My Dogs. The blog stars the most adorable miniature schnauzer named Harley, whose precious face assists in the sharing of helpful information about best practices for pet owners as well as sweet everyday stories about life as and life with dogs. (Note: I have a soft spot for mini schnauzers because they were my first dogs.)

Next up are the five blogs I dub Liebster Blogs, in no particular order:

1. Sheeple Liberator. Witty and wicked smart, this long-winded blogger calls society like she sees it.

2. Peaceful Dog. Heartfelt, honest and always insightful, this blogger lives in a city I often miss and writes about two subjects I love: dogs and the environment.

3. Our Waldo Bungie. This excellent dog and DIY blog is penned by someone who lives in my same neighborhood and shares a freaktastic amount of other things in common with me.

4.Thunderlutz. Hilarious, twisted, unpredictable, bold.

5. Michael Brian. He posts a gorgeous, artful photo of a dog every single day.

Honestly, I didn’t know that these “awards” existed before I got one. They are sort of like chain letters in that you have to spread them to other bloggers in order to keep them going. But that’s actually a good thing, because it means that other neat blogs receive exposure. So, happy reading and happy blogging, everyone!
