Beautiful Bentley Would Like to Sit On Your Feet

Don’t tell Luke and Scooby, but I spent some time with another guy this morning.

His name is Bentley, and he was my date to a meeting of the KC Pittie Pack dog socialization group.

Isn’t he handsome?

Bentley is a three-year-old adoptable Australian shepherd.

He knows basic obedience, and is true to his breed through and through. Bentley is extremely alert and likes exercise.

He’s partially blind in one eye, and a little shy with new people at first. But as soon as Bentley gets used to you (like, after you give him a biscuit), he just wants to be friends. And that means sitting on your feet – or at least very close to you.

When we weren’t walking today, Bentley seemed most comfortable keeping my feet warm or leaning against me.

Every so often, he’d tilt his head up and give me a smile. If I got down on his level, he’d give me a kiss.

This is a great improvement from the first time that I met Bentley a few weeks ago. That was the first day he came to his temporary home at Kennel Creek Pet Resort. That day, Bentley knew something was changing in his life, and he wasn’t quite ready to snuggle up with anyone.

Bentley is currently looking for a new home because his owner’s health required her to move somewhere without her beloved dog.

In the meantime, the merle Aussie is staying at Kennel Creek. He does well interacting with the other dogs in playgroup and has some favorite people among the staff.

However, what Bentley really needs is person to call his own (preferably with feet that don’t mind being sat on).

Please help me get the word out about this wonderful dog by sharing his story.
