Nominated for a Pawlitzer Prize

A week ago, I was honored to have this blog recognized by another site dedicated to the well-being of dogs. Iowa Dog Trust nominated Wayward Dogs for a “Pawlitzer Prize.”

The purpose of the nominations is ”to encourage more bloggers to help dog owners around the corner and around the world by offering them quality instruction, information and guidance.”

It really makes me feel good to know that other folks out there believe that we are doing a good thing here. I know my contributions to the cause of animal welfare and responsible living are small compared to the actions of others. I am humbled every day by the wonderful deeds, useful information, beautiful photographs and lovely writing out there in the dog blogosphere.

For a sampling of the sites I follow, check out my posts on the Liebster Award and Versatile Blogger Award.

Here’s a list of the sites I’ve been paying close attention to lately. Please take the time to check them out. And thank you for reading my blog.

1. Fido Fetch Photography – This is the official blog of the dog-umentarian featured here earlier this week.

2. Doggerel – This dog mama to be is spending one year learning everything about dogs (including volunteering at a shelter) before committing to a pet for life. She has awesome taste in doggy duds and literature.

3. Notes from a Dog Walker – Sarcasm and practical advice pertaining to the challenge of walking Dogs In Need of Space (DINOS). Inspirational for our outings with KC Pittie Pack and Friends.

4. Hippie Dogs - Gorgeous photographs and stream-of-consciousness style posts from a spirited young woman and her champion agility dog Revolution.

5. Uptown Dog – The adventures of a Corgi-mix dog and his people, who all recently moved to New York City.
